Mahjong Open Play is operated by TKJM Enterprises LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use MahjongOpenPlay.com, join our list, or book a session, and how we use and protect it. We collect only what we need to run our mahjong sessions.

Information we collect

When you join our list: your email address, and optionally your first name, ZIP code, playing level, and whether you want to hear about classes. We also record the date and time, your IP address, and the exact consent wording you agreed to, so we can show that you asked to hear from us. We send one email to confirm your address, and one reminder if you do not confirm.
When you book (after we open): your name, email address, the names of any guests you book for, your bookings, credits, and rewards, and optionally your playing level. If you choose to receive booking texts, we also collect your mobile number and record the date, time, and exact wording of your consent.
Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive a record of the payment, such as the amount and the last four digits of the card.
Location: we use your ZIP code or city to show nearby sessions and to plan new locations. We never collect or store your precise location.
Technical information: our hosting provider processes IP addresses and basic request information to deliver the site securely and protect it from abuse.

How we use your information

To send the emails you asked for, such as opening news, booking confirmations, receipts, and reminders, and the booking texts described under Text messages below, if you chose them.
To run sessions: check-in, seating, credits, and rewards.
To plan where to open next, using ZIP codes in summary form.
To keep the site secure and prevent fraud.
To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising by other companies.

Text messages (SMS)

We use text messages only for bookings. If you book and tick the text message box at checkout, we will text the mobile number you enter, and only about these four things: your booking confirmations, reminders for sessions you have booked, waitlist seat notifications you have requested, and cancellation confirmations.

We do not send marketing or promotional texts, and we never text you about anything you have not booked or requested.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your text message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the text messaging provider that delivers our messages on our behalf.

Service providers we use

We share information only with companies that help us run Mahjong Open Play, and only for that purpose:

Cloudflare, for website hosting, security, and bot protection (Turnstile).
Zoho (ZeptoMail and Campaigns), for sending email.
Stripe, for payments.
A text message provider (Twilio or Telnyx), once text messaging begins.

Partner venues see only what they need to host a session. Venue statements identify players by an anonymous player number, not by name or email.

Your choices

Every email has an unsubscribe link. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts.
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information by emailing info@MahjongOpenPlay.com. We may keep records we are required to keep for tax and accounting.

How long we keep information

We keep list signups until you unsubscribe, then keep a record of the unsubscribe so we honor it. We keep booking and payment records as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes.

Security

We use encrypted connections, store sign-in and confirmation codes only in scrambled (hashed) form, limit access to staff who need it, and use our providers' security features. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

Age

Our sessions are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes and contact
